Elderflower season is here!
At Café Susann, this week will be characterized by this beautiful plant. Like every year, we went out into the local fields surrounding Kaiserslautern and picked wild elderflowers to make our homemade elderflower syrup with.
We hand-picked and carefully selected the flowers – making sure to leave enough for the bees -, cleaned them, left them to draw, and allowed the syrup to reduce. Tomorrow, we will strain the syrup and fill our reusable glass bottles with it.
